Endicott Arm

Endicott Arm, a fjord in southeastern Alaska, is a natural wonder known for its towering glaciers, rugged cliffs, and abundant wildlife. Stretching over 30 miles, this remote waterway is part of the Tracy Arm-Fords Terror Wilderness, offering visitors a dramatic landscape sculpted by ice and time. The journey through Endicott Arm is a visual spectacle, with sheer rock walls rising from icy blue waters and waterfalls cascading down from the surrounding peaks.

One of the highlights of Endicott Arm is the Dawes Glacier, a massive tidewater glacier that regularly calves, sending large chunks of ice crashing into the water. The sight and sound of ice breaking away are an unforgettable experience, as seals rest on floating icebergs nearby. The fjord's cold, nutrient-rich waters support a diverse ecosystem, attracting whales, sea lions, and bald eagles.

Endicott Arm is accessible primarily by boat, with cruise ships and smaller expedition vessels navigating the narrow fjord. Kayakers can explore its quieter corners. The untouched wilderness surrounding the fjord provides a glimpse into Alaska’s untamed beauty.

Unlike its more famous counterpart, Tracy Arm, Endicott Arm sees fewer visitors, making it a more secluded and intimate experience. Whether witnessing the thunderous calving of Dawes Glacier, spotting orcas gliding through the water, or simply taking in the serenity of the fjord, a journey through Endicott Arm is a remarkable encounter with one of Alaska’s most stunning landscapes.
